REHAB101

REHAB 101 gives examples of How NOT TO Rehabilitate marine wildlife. Exampleswere taken over the years from the Vancouver Aquarium. Lifeforce is presently trying to "Free Daisy" from this Aquarium's rehab station. This porpoise is a fighter and has beaten the odds to survive. This gives her credit for being a good candidate for release options. It was once a "fact" that if a human touches a seal pup the mom would not take her back. However this was proven to be incorrect. The aquariums have made many mistakes (see Lifeforce video Rehab 101). There are still many other unknowns about other marine species. It is not a proven scientific fact that a young Harbour porpoise cannot be rehabbed for release. It is not a proven fact that she is better off in captivity and captivity would not kill her. There are examples of Harbour porpoise releases. Lifeforce hopes that there is still time to do what is right for her and to give her a chance at freedom.
